The Do’s and Don’t for Audience Etiquette
Are you off to your first ever burlesque or performing artist show and don’t quite know what to do or expect? No worries! Here’s a great little audience etiquette guide.

With the rise of performance art as a fun night night out, and a great form of exercise and community, more and more people are being welcomed into a wonderful, sparkling and hard working space. For those who have only just discovered the joy of things such as cabaret, circus, burlesque or even just Fringe Fest, there can be a bit of a learning curve, even for those who are just in the audience. Going to the theatre can be a little different than seeing a burlesque show so I figured it’s worth creating a quick etiquette guide for audience members, especially those who are new (welcome!).
Regardless of what kind of performance you are seeing, be in family friendly or otherwise, all performers deserve respect whilst performing. It doesn’t matter what the artist is doing, who they are or what the theme of their show is, it is always best to be respectful and understanding towards others.
Enjoy your burlesque show!
