Testing Vintage: Spoolies

April 9, 2021April 6, 2021Leave a comment

I always feel a bit silly whenever I try out something like a new curler or setting lotion because although I am a pinup, my hair skills are very limited. But I still love sharing what I know, my tests and how I find things to work for me. Today, we are continuing on that … Continue reading Testing Vintage: Spoolies

Making a Vintage Easter Bonnet and Corsage

April 2, 2021April 2, 2021Leave a comment

When it came to deciding what vintage inspired craft I would do for Easter, I felt a bit tired and uninspired about a lot of this things I came up with. Crochet and knitting ideas were thrown around as were recipes and sewing projects but I decided that this year, I will finally make my … Continue reading Making a Vintage Easter Bonnet and Corsage

With a Vintage Twist – Kiki’s Delivery Service

I have been sitting on this project idea for over two years and have finally decided to just stop procrastinating and do it. Welcome to a brand new blog/video series where I take the much loved characters from Studio Ghibli films and turn them into vintage/pinup girls. I've always loved Studio Ghibli, especially in their … Continue reading With a Vintage Twist – Kiki’s Delivery Service

Erstwilder is famous for their resin and acrylic brooches and accessories. They have been around for quite a while and personally, I've been collection for a lot longer than I care to admit. I've been lucky enough to work with Erstwilder over the last couple of years and have long been a fan of their … Continue reading Erstwilder Handbag Review – Flora Fox Face Unboxing

Honiara Vintage Shoe Review – Makira in White

March 22, 2021March 22, 2021Leave a comment

In my wardrobe, I have heaps of tops, skirts, dresses and accessories but when it comes to footwear, I'm a little lost. I do have a selection of nice sensible heels, a couple of quirky shoes but what I really try to get a good range of is simple day wear shoes. My go to … Continue reading Honiara Vintage Shoe Review – Makira in White

Sometimes it's scary how well Google knows you and what you like to buy. At the end of last year I kept getting recommended this Acorn Rattan bag from @olliella and you bet ya bottom I loved it. Google knew I would want a bag designed for children for myself. Ah, well played Google, well played.
This weekend was all about recovering from my recent operation but it gave me time to start planning my next vintage ghibli sewing project.
When dressing in the vintage style, many of us feel the pressure to style ourselves in a way to suit. Red lips and curled hair become iconic for vintage styling but for people like me, styling my hair can be a bit of a challenge.
When I was a kid, I went through a pretty strong Hello Kitty phase. My entire desk was covered in every piece of Hello Kitty stationery I could get my hands on, much of which I still have today. The new collection from @erstwilder with @hellokitty made my nine year old self squeal with joy! Oh and of course @miss.vintage.orchid is also Hello Kitty obsessed!

This little bunny wants to wish you all a wonderful and safe Easter.
When you watch one too many 80s films right before an Easter shoot. Bette Midler would be proud 💚
Be honest, how often do you wash your foam/sponge curlers? I try to wash mine at least once a month as I use multiple times a week. They can start to look a bit gross and sad if you don't keep them clean.
Have you ever procrastinated so hard that years go by and you still haven't done the thing you set out to do? Well, that happened to me; for over two and a half years I have wanted to create a mini-series on my blog (and now YouTube) where I take my favourite Studio Ghibli films and characters and turn them into a vintage version of themselves.
