My Favourite Red Nail Polish for that Vintage Vibe

In an effort to take time out to self care, every fortnight, I give myself a pedicure and try to do something fun. This little ritual gives me some quiet time where I can just listen to music, chat on the phone or watch something I’ve been wanting to. Having kept up this routine for years and years, I’ve gone through quite a bit of nail polish over the years and some colours were certainly reached for more than others. Today I wanted to share some of my favourite red nail polishes that I’ve used as well as some on my dream list. At the moment I have 7 different red nail polishes which is more than enough, but once they start running out (a few already are) I will hopefully get to expand and grow this list.

Picture Polish – Rouge
This is the red that I reach for the most, Rouge by Picture Polish is just a great everyday deep red that isn’t too pink or orange, nor too dark. It is still a rich dark red creme and I will certainly replace this bottle once its done. I love layering this one with nail stickers or glitter toppers.

Picture Polish – Saucy
A little brighter and lighter than Rouge, Saucy is a red creme that is so much fun in summer. if you only get two items from this list, I’d recommend Picture Polish’s Rouge and Saucy so you have both a stunning bright red and deep red with perfect vintage tones.

Picture Polish – Double Decker
So not very true vintage of me to suggest a glittery nail polish but, I wear this one a lot and it’s super fun. Double Decker is a deep red with a scattering of tiny holographic glitter. It’s not super sparkly but does give a lovely sheen on your nails. I do recommend putting a good top coat on this one as it does dull quickly without it.

Dior – 767 Red Wonders
I’ve only ever bought myself one fancy nail polish and this was it, the Dior 767 nail polish. This red is the perfect vintage tone as its very rich and deep in colour. It was only now when seeing if this nail polish is still sold that I found out it was a limited edition seasonal product that is discontinued but, given how much the polish lasts and how glossy the shine is, I’d definitely look into Dior polished in the future if I need another little me-gifted Christmas treat.

OPI – Big Apple Red
Over the years I’ve gone through several bottles of red OPI nail polish but at the moment, this is my favourite and the only one left in my collection. The vibrancy of this red is really striking and I find it is a great vintage red shade as it’s not too orange.

Innisfree – 51
I absolutely loved this nail polish (they also had a fun glossy red top coat with glitter number 59 which was great) but I cannot seem to be able to purchase it anywhere anymore. It seems that Innisfree’s range has significantly shrunk and I don’t think I’ll be able to repurchased. I still wanted to include this colour because I will love it till the very last drop (less than half a bottle left now!).

Over the years, I’ve gone through hundreds of bottles of nail polish and red is always one of my favourite colours to wear. I’m sure there are some incredible nail polishes out there but for now, this is what I am using. I’m hoping in the future to try out some different brands but I have tried a lot over the years.
