Making a Vintage Christmas Jelly

December 25, 2020December 24, 20201 Comment

We all know that vintage jelly recipes leave a lot to be desired; many are more of a miss than a hit (don't even get me started on some of the recipes I've started... eww), but I've been asked repeatedly since last Christmas to try out some vintage recipes. So here we are, one year … Continue reading Making a Vintage Christmas Jelly

Gift ideas for the Mrs Maisel Obsessed

Even though I've already made a gift giving guide, I thought it might be fun to share and explore more gift ideas but specifically for fans of the Amazon series, the Marvelous Mrs Maisel. This list will hopefully suit all budgets and come from small independent businesses and also the official Maisel brand. Of course … Continue reading Gift ideas for the Mrs Maisel Obsessed

Cleaning my Grandmother’s Christmas Tree

December 14, 2020December 13, 2020Leave a comment

Earlier this year, I was helping my dad clean out a part of his old shed to make some room for a new shelving unit, deep at the back I pulled out a strange shaped object and it took me a minute before I realised what it was, my grandmother's old Christmas tree. When my … Continue reading Cleaning my Grandmother’s Christmas Tree

Nicoletta Carlone Bag Review

Anyone who has followed me for a little while will know that my go-to bag is Lola Von Rose. I have all six colours and if they were to release more, you betcha I would buy them but unfortunately they are not making anymore as they are focusing on lipsticks (which I have reviewed before). … Continue reading Nicoletta Carlone Bag Review

What a lovely sunny Saturday it was 💚
It's the long weekend! It's a quiet one for me with only some housework, a catch up with friends and a shoot. It's a pretty exciting shoot but it's all secret squirrel business for now. I can't wait!
The best part about summer is discovering new wonderful places to have adventures. One quiet Wednesday we drove into the hills and found an isolated swimming hole surrounded by beautiful bushland. The water was so calm, clear and cool. It's always such a precious thing to be out and deep in the heart of the beautiful outdoors. As much as I love the beach and the pool, a secret fresh water swimming hole in the mountains is hard to beat.
Today somehow felt like Monday all over again. I was productive for a few hours but then, you know, migraine.
Summertime; sunshine, straw hats and peaches. I went on a cute peach picking adventure a little while ago in preparation of today's blog and video release. Link in bio 🍑
And just like that, the weekend is over. I spent mine with a migraine but it's just made me more determined to have a productive week.
After two days of migraines, it's time to just unwind, have a shower and go to bed early for once.
I feel very blessed that every morning and ever night this fluffy baby comes up for snuggles and cuddles.
I know one day I'll look back and think, "remember when we had to wear masks? Wild times!".
Although we only had to wear masks for two weeks, it was still a chance to get overdressed and be as glamorous as possible. I had just finished sewing this dress when we entered lockdown so whipping up a matching mask wasn't a big task. This is my first attempt at the Gertie Butterick b6380 pattern in @gertie18 fabric. I'm pretty happy with it but I think next time I might adjust the bust a bit more.
