I don’t know about you, but I am so ready to embrace the cooler weather and put all my summery dresses away. There’s always something so charming about vintage and retro-inspired ensembles when the weather is nice and cool. To fully embrace that, today we will be reviewing three new dresses from Miusol who very kindly gifted me these dresses to review. All photos were taken by Caitlyn Jean.
Originally established in 2007, Miusol is an online-based clothing company who specialises in vintage-inspired dresses, tops and skirts. Miusol is budget-friendly and creates a wide range of retro looks which can suit many different occasions and styles. Whilst browsing their site, it’s clear to see that they have quite the extensive collection but I was particularly fond of their styles which could all be created in different colours making it perfect for all wardrobes or those wanting to create costumes, Disney bounds or specific outfits.
Women’s Retro Style Half Collar Casual Party Swing Dress – Peacock Blue LINK
This dress, like the others, was really comfortable and stretchy. It is made from 62% Rayon, 33% Nylon and 5% Spandex; I chose this lovely teal blue colour. The dress features a simple bodice with a necktie, 3/4 sleeves and a pleated skirt. The skirt was knee length and not sheer making it a comfortable dress to wear. The dress has an invisible zip at the back and available in sizes small to XXL. It retails for $42.99 AUD.
I really enjoyed wearing this dress! As I said it was super comfortable and stretchy so if you’re stuck between sizes, you can go with the smaller size. I chose the medium but there was so much stretch that a small would have easily fit and only been slightly tighter. I thought the fabric was really nice and would be great when the weather cools down. It was quite the cool and windy day when I wore it here and I was more than comfortable in it. I styled the neckties by creating a simple knot and letting the ribbons hang down, I added a simple vintage-looking brooch to the knot and a black belt to the waist.

Women’s Retro Floral Lace Short Sleeve Bridesmaid Party Dress – Dark Green LINK
Despite the sizing chart, I could have definitely sized down in this dress as it felt very loose and I caught myself trying to zip up the back thinking it was open by accident. Regardless, this dress was simple, elegant and cute! Out of all the dresses I received, this was the shortest which pulled away from the vintage vibe a little but it was still really comfortable and fun to wear. The dress is made from 38% Cotton, 39% Nylon and 23% Rayon and has a simple lace over the main dress. The dress has cap sleeves, a boatneck bodice and a simple a-line skirt, no pockets and back zip. It retails for $42.99 and comes in small up to an XXL.
This would be a great dress for anyone wanting to try out the vintage style to see if it works for them; it’s a great price, fit, style and isn’t too far from a modern dress with the elements only being a nod to vintage. In saying that, it was fun to wear, I thought the lace design was lovely and the dress was really stretchy making it comfortable all day.

Women’s Business Slim Style Ruffle Work Pencil Dress – Acid Blue LINK
The final dress we received was this stunning wiggle dress which featured a cross over at the bust and peephole, a high neckline and waistband. The dress is made from a 95%Polyester and 5% Spandex blend which gave the dress a bit of a crepe feel. It had a little stretch to it and featured some gathers along the side hip seams. I thought the length was really flattering and this acid blue colour was particularly striking. The dress also had a back zipper, no sleeves and was pretty comfortable to wear. It retails for $33.99 and comes in sizes small to XXL.
This is the dress that threw me off a bit and I wasn’t even sure how to properly style it. I wore it for an entire day running errands and I received many compliments which calmed me down. I do want to point out that I would be worried about what kind of accessories I wear with this dress, especially belts because where my seat belt rubbed on the dress whilst driving, the fabric started to pill. If you’re going to wear this dress, perhaps be mindful of any friction caused by seats, belts and seatbelts.

Overall, I thought these dresses were all really lovely, elegant and budget-friendly. All these dresses were available in a range of different colours (I somehow accidentally all chose blue/green tones without realising) which mean they can suit a range of figures and skin tones. I was overall pretty happy with the quality and glad I could wear these dresses over an entire day to test run them properly. Shipping from Miusol took about 10-14 days which was pretty quick and I can see myself wearing these as the weather continues to cool down.
