I’m actually embarrassed by how long it’s taken me to do another KBeauty review but oh my giddy golly gosh it’s gotten a bit hectic on my end. No matter, here we are today with a brand new Kbeauty product review focusing on the Elizavecca Hell-Pore Clean Up AHA Fruit Toner. Now I should start by saying I have dry skin and cystic acne and I can be prone to break outs. I was skeptical of this toner to begin with as it’s an AHA toner which isn’t always the greatest on dry skin but a friend assured me as it worked on her and she thought it might be a great continuation of my Halloween Themed Skincare post I did last year for Witchy Wednesdays. So here’s my experiece.

Thoughts:
For me, toner is a product that I use after cleansing my skin in the morning and evening, as well as something that I can wipe over my face during the day to freshen up and feel clean. Upon receiving this toner, I was immediately hit by the fragrance and scent; it was very strong and super fruity. I personally wasn’t a fan and found it very pungent and not necessary when it comes to skincare. For me, fragrance can leave my skin dry (because it’s generally alcohol based) so I tend to avoid it whenever I can. When I looked at the ingredients, I noticed that lactic acid was quite high up in the list which is a BHA ingredient whereas the product advertises to be mainly an AHA toner.
After a week of use, I noticed my skin looked clear and my skin had no build up of dead skin cells. And then it all went down hill from there; by the end of the month, my skin was rough, dry and flaking. After cleansing, I had to straight away apply moisturizer or else my skin would feel like it was burning. I had trouble applying any makeup as my skin was so flakey and dry underneath, none of my products would sit properly and I looked patchy and dry. I noticed my cheeks were red and blotchy but hands down, the worse part was the dryness on my forehead. I applied moisturizers, hylurolic acid serums and anything else that I could think to stop the dryness but nothing helped.
At this stage, no matter how I tried, I could not exfoliate my skin back to smoothness. I tried a konjac sponge as well as salicylic acid face wash but nothing could get rid of the dry skin. You may wonder why I continued usage for this long; sometimes my skin takes a while to show results and at first I thought it could be all stress related. I always like to test out a product for an entire month as then I go through multiple rotuines, hormonal spikes as well as it gives my skin time to adjust to something new. I discontinued use after a month and a half and by then I had almost finished the bottle (I started using it on my neck as well).
I have now discontinued use and trying to get my skin back to normal. I think that the main AHA ingredients, the alcohol and the fragrance all caused my skin to dry out and go flakey. I do feel bad that I don’t have any photographic proof but I really don’t want to post closeups of my gross skin online in fear of people’s comments (I have been bullied for acne for a very long time) and don’t want to go through that any more.
I feel really let down by this product; even looking at reviews on YesStyle, they are mainly positive. Many others state that they found their skin to be really moisturised and people enjoyed the scent. Skin care is very personal; for me, fragrance can dry me out and this one was particularly strong. I do not plan on repurchasing this product and I am sad to say I wouldn’t recommend it as I personally didn’t have an overly positive experience. Of course, if you want to try it out for yourself, you are more than welcome. If you do, please let me know how you went and if you had better results than I did.

Thanks for this review. I wish I found it earlier, before I bought this toner encouraged by all the positive reviews. I have a skin like a rhino + it’s used to aha/bha, it’s really hard to upset it but this toner managed to irritate my skin, redness and breakouts. I kept trying hoping that my skin was purging and it would finally get better but hell no, it’s just worse and worse. Never again.
