Last year I made a list of sewing goals that I thought were going to be easily achievable, but then life got in the way. So this year I will be revisiting some goals and making what will hopefully be some more attainable goals instead.
Sew More Indie Patterns
This is one goal I didn’t get to do last year as I simply ran out of time. There was one pattern I tried and it was honestly a disaster (blog coming soon) and I do plan to master the pattern this year or at least figure out what I’m doing wrong. There are so many great indie patterns out there, they definitely need some love.

Sew some sleepwear
I love pyjamas and loungewear yet it’s not something I sew a lot of. This year, I have a goal of making cute Christmas pyjamas out of some adorable fabric but I also want to try and make a robe and some winter pyjamas too. I already have my pattens and fabric for all these ideas so there should be no excuse.

Keep shopping my stash
I do not need more fabric. I have put myself back on a very strict fabric buying ban and I will not yield. I do not need any more fabric. Probably ever.
Sew more pop culture
This is something I ran out of time doing last year and now I have a few projects that I refuse to ignore for another year. This year I will be hopefully returning to my Ghibli Girl series as well as sewing from a range of popular culture. I also plan to release a project I finished last year but never got around to releasing.

Sew for big events
Sewing casual day dresses is always fun but I want to start creating outfits for bigger events such as pageants, balls and photoshoots. This will hopefully push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me to further improve my sewing.
Get some collabs
Having social anxiety sucks and I have been wanting to reach out to other vintage sewing creators online and see if they would like to collab but my shyness has gotten in the way. I will make sure to at least reach out this year.
Sew some new things
I think I’ve prove that I can sew a dress so this year, I want to really push myself and try something new. I have been wanting to give lingerie and modern swimwear a try so that’s something that will hopefully come to fruition.

Much like last year, there’s a high chance I won’t get to complete all these goals but after taking a few months off for my own mental health, I have already returned to sewing for myself and within the next month or so, hopefully I will return to filming and making things for my much neglected YouTube channel. I do have some very ambitious projects for the year but I am hoping to challenge myself and hopefully learn something new.
Do you have any sewing goals for the year? What are yours?
