How to Wear A Vintage Hair Snood

May 25, 20201 Comment

So I'm definitely not one to start giving vintage hair tutorials but I do know how to do a few simple things. As I slowly gain my confidence in front of the camera, I thought I'd share a very simple hair tutorial that anyone can do. Styling a vintage hair snood; so simple, so quick, … Continue reading How to Wear A Vintage Hair Snood

DIY Pinup: Home Made Curlers

May 11, 20201 Comment

Throughout history, women have gotten creative and thrifty in the name of upkeeping beauty standards. Today I am excited to share with you a tutorial from my grandmother with her super simple (and budget-friendly) hair curlers. I remember being a little girl and my mother curling my hair using these curlers; I normally slept in … Continue reading DIY Pinup: Home Made Curlers

Pinup Beauty: Glitter Lips

I've barely brushed off the glitter since I've seen Dita Von Teese in her new tour, Glamonatrix and oh my gosh it was so sparkly. When I went to see the show, I absolutely had to wear my glitter lips and by golly did Instagram demand to know how it was done! Easy, I've filmed … Continue reading Pinup Beauty: Glitter Lips

How to Sew a Vintage Peg Apron

November 29, 2019November 28, 2019Leave a comment

One of my favourite household chores is doing the laundry, I love the simplicity of it, the smells of the laundry products and getting time to go outside and enjoy the fresh air whilst I peg everything up. What I don't like, however, besides folding laundry, is dealing with plastic pegs. After time in the … Continue reading How to Sew a Vintage Peg Apron

Witchy Wednesday – Creating Halloween Props for Erstwilder

October 16, 2019November 1, 20191 Comment

When we first learned that we would be in charge of Erstwilder's upcoming Halloween collections, we all knew it's time to go all out and embrace our inner witch. We wanted to do justice to the collection and not make it look like we rolled into the discount aisle of the Halloween store so that … Continue reading Witchy Wednesday – Creating Halloween Props for Erstwilder

What a lovely sunny Saturday it was 💚
It's the long weekend! It's a quiet one for me with only some housework, a catch up with friends and a shoot. It's a pretty exciting shoot but it's all secret squirrel business for now. I can't wait!
The best part about summer is discovering new wonderful places to have adventures. One quiet Wednesday we drove into the hills and found an isolated swimming hole surrounded by beautiful bushland. The water was so calm, clear and cool. It's always such a precious thing to be out and deep in the heart of the beautiful outdoors. As much as I love the beach and the pool, a secret fresh water swimming hole in the mountains is hard to beat.
Today somehow felt like Monday all over again. I was productive for a few hours but then, you know, migraine.
Summertime; sunshine, straw hats and peaches. I went on a cute peach picking adventure a little while ago in preparation of today's blog and video release. Link in bio 🍑
And just like that, the weekend is over. I spent mine with a migraine but it's just made me more determined to have a productive week.
After two days of migraines, it's time to just unwind, have a shower and go to bed early for once.
I feel very blessed that every morning and ever night this fluffy baby comes up for snuggles and cuddles.
I know one day I'll look back and think, "remember when we had to wear masks? Wild times!".
Although we only had to wear masks for two weeks, it was still a chance to get overdressed and be as glamorous as possible. I had just finished sewing this dress when we entered lockdown so whipping up a matching mask wasn't a big task. This is my first attempt at the Gertie Butterick b6380 pattern in @gertie18 fabric. I'm pretty happy with it but I think next time I might adjust the bust a bit more.
