Dita Recommends: Nuxe Oil

August 30, 2021January 6, 2022Leave a comment

If you've been following me for a while, you might know by now that I have very dry skin which means I'm constantly looking at lotions, body oils and moisturisers to help calm and soothe my skin. I was towards the end of another bottle of baby oil when I thought I'd look to see … Continue reading Dita Recommends: Nuxe Oil

May 31, 2021March 17, 20211 Comment

It's been a little while since we tested out a true vintage product but over the next few posts, we will be testing out and trying out some vintage soaps. I have been delaying these posts for about a year and a half so I'm glad to finally have them ready to post. I will … Continue reading Testing Vintage: Camay Pink Soap

Testing Vintage: Yardley Perfumed Talc (Rose)

May 14, 2021January 6, 2022Leave a comment

It's time to test out another vintage product and see how it holds up to today's standards. In today's instalment, we look at Yardley Talcum powder, specifically, Rose Talc. Yardley of London was originally started in 1770 and specialised in cosmetics, toiletry products and fragrances. It's one of the oldest companies in the world that … Continue reading Testing Vintage: Yardley Perfumed Talc (Rose)

Baking a Vintage Irish Potato Cake from 1930

March 15, 2021March 15, 2021Leave a comment

It's been a while since I baked a cake from a vintage recipe and although some attempts were better than others, I thought in order to celebrate St Patricks day, we would all come together to bake an Irish Potato Cake from a 1930's recipe. For those that don't know, I lived in Ireland for … Continue reading Baking a Vintage Irish Potato Cake from 1930

Testing Vintage: White Shoulders Powder

January 15, 2021January 6, 20221 Comment

I dream of the day where I have my own home with a private boudoir room which I can spend some time primping and pampering myself. In my head, I am wearing a long and luscious pink gown, fluffy mule slippers and I am powdering my self with something beautiful and luxurious. I was indulging … Continue reading Testing Vintage: White Shoulders Powder

Do you enjoy winter holidays or summer holidays? I suppose summer is a bit easier but there's something delightfully cosy about winter adventures. What would be your ideal winter holiday?
Big boots bows make me happy. I'm trying really hard to get back to some sort of normal work routine but I've honestly been struggling. I'm not sure when I'll be well enough to film and edit and get back into the swing of things but I'm trying my best each day.
Sundays are an odd day, they have this laziness to them that's something to be savored but by the evening I'm stressed about the week to cone. Anyone else feel like this? I personally think we should add another day to the weekend so I can get all my housework done.
It's looking like a quiet weekend of recovery for me, what are your plans? What would be your perfect weekend?
Sad story about this dress: I made it using #butterick6284 during lockdown and absolutely loved it. After a few wears I took it to the laundry and somehow it fell behind the laundry basket where it wasn't visible. After a good while I found it but noticed it had some odd sun bleaching right on the front of the bodice. Now I wear it around the house but I'm tempted to remake it from the same fabric. Should I make another copy? Or should I just accept it as a house dress?
I'm in recovery mode and it's driving me crazy. I wanted to work today but just couldn't due to pain. I miss my normal routine, blogging and sewing. I don't think I'll be able to film this week but I'll try my best for a video next week.
I can't believe it's already wednesday! The week is just whizzing by and there's still so much to do. I'd much rather be lounging in pretty dresses. What would you rather be doing right now?
What are your weekend plans? I'm having an Endo flare up so if I manage to get up off the couch, that's me being productive. In spirit I'll be off adventuring ❤️
Is it weird to miss a certain fabric? I'm still obsessed with this yellow retro floral fabric from @pbsfabrics and I've already got it in green and soon to be pink. But, I want to make another dress out of the yellow. I know I'm on a fabric shopping ban but should I break it to get some more of this gorgeous yellow? It's just so pretty and I want it on a dress with sleeves! Thoughts?
Is everyone ready for Easter weekend? I'm not putting up my decorations this year due to renovations but I still have some Easter baking to do. Do you have an Easter tradition?
