It’s nearly autumn and I’m already starting to plan out my wardrobe and pull out all the stunning seasonal colors. Autumn is my favourite time of year, I love matching cardigans to dresses and trying to convince myself that I need more cardigans (I really don’t but we all have our vices and cardigans are mine). For today’s blog, I am excited to be reviewing three new Lindy Bop dresses all perfect for the changing season. Lindy Bop was very kind in sending me these dresses in exchange for my opinion and I’m so excited to share this all with you. All photos taken by Caitlyn Martin.
For this Autumn season, Lindy Bop has been inspired by deep prints, classic cuts but also a nod to a more masculine styling line with new pants, shirts, and trousers being available. For those that aren’t familiar with Lindy Bop, they create amazing prints in house by a team of fabulous designers fusing traditional hand-painted methods with state of the art digital printing techniques. Many of their unique prints are limited editions and are highly collectible by dedicated fans. As well as prints they offer plenty of garments in plain colours across a variety of fabrics. Lindy Bop release hundreds of styles each season so there is always plenty of new clothes to browse. As a consumer of vintage reproduction and inspired garments, Lindy Bop is very affordable and a great way to add staple pieces to your wardrobe. With a large size range (8 to 26) and great customer service, they are wonderful for any vintage lover.
The first dress I am sharing is the ‘Carissa’ Rose Plaid Check Midi Dress. The dress is made from a lightweight textured fabric consisting of Polyester and Elastane and has a fitted waistband, bra keepers to ensure bra straps are not visible, matching fabric belt, is fully lined and has a concealed side zip. I am a particular fan of the fact that it has two pockets (Yay! Room for snacks!) and I really love the pleating on the skirt. The fabric really caught my attention as the colour was so rich and vibrant which could easily be styled casual or a little bit fancier. Another thing which I thought was a lovely touch was the matching belt; of course you could always add a contrasting belt but it was a lovely to have a matchy matchy belt.
The fit was super comfortable; I received a size 10 which fit me perfectly and still had enough wiggle room for it to be comfortable without gaping. This dress would be lovely once the weather fully cools down as you can wear it with lovely stockings and a cute little cardigan. With the colouring, a simple black cardigan would be perfect and I thought that a cute little black hat would just set it off perfectly. Also, the lovely cowl neck at the front was really flattering and I love the feminine touch which came from the bows on the sleeves. As a huge fan of sleeves in general, I just thought it was so cute!

Our next dress is the ‘Marisole’ Teal Midi Swing Dress. I am particularly fond of this dress as it has three of my favourite things; sleeves, a pretty collar and pockets! This dress was a dream to wear; it was really lovely and stretchy and I found the colour really fun to style. Here I have styled it with a cream beret with some berries and my brown shoes (not pictured because I was standing in black sand/dirt and my feet were looking pretty gross at this stage).
This dress is made out of a good quality stretch cotton fabric with a fully lined bodice which fits in a really flattering way over all my curves. I was a particular fan of the 3/4 length sleeves with the turned up cuff details. As I mentioned above, POCKETS! Yes thank you Lindy Bop for answering the call of millions of women in our quest for decent pockets. I could definitely fit my phone and a few other bits and bobs (mainly snacks) inside so you should be fine! This dress was finished off with a detachable belt in the same material as the dress which can be tied either at the front or on the back, I chose the back for this round but it’s completely up to you.

Our final dress is the ‘Charlotte’ Rustic Check Shirt Dress. When it comes to autumnal tones, I have always loved wearing brown tones but end up shying away from them (mainly because the people I shop with aren’t a fan of brown) but I’m so happy I stuck to my guns and chose this dress because it was super cute and perfect! The dress is made from a good quality woven fabric which will be lovely and warm once the weather cools down (I’m so over this Australian summer already!). I loved the cute and flattering collared neckline and of course, the buttons which go all the way down the front bodice which is how you get in and out of the dress.
I think I might sew in a hook and eye just to make sure the two front layers stay closed around the waist line as having Endo, when I bloat it can push waist lines out and make them gape. Of course, if you don’t have this issue, you’ll be fine. In other news, hurrah for 3/4 length sleeves and also another matcing removable self-tie fabric belt! I love all this amazing sleeve action and matching belts so thank you Lindy Bop you nailed it! Not to mention, the amazing design of this dress features a no gape placket and an ease pleat to the rear which is pretty great! I styled this dress with shoes and a bag from Charlie Stone and a hat from Belbeina Lee.
Final Thoughts
Wow! This is an absolutely amazing collection and there were so many great pieces to choose from so make sure you check out all the lovely items Lindy Bop has. I’m a particular fan of the colours and tones from this collection; it’s always nice to be able to add some colour and fun into the cooler months as I always try to move away from the black tones. I can see all these dresses being dressed up with cute coloured cardigans (it was around 38 degrees when I shot these dresses and couldn’t handle adding another jumper) as well as cute winter hats, boots and gloves. Oh how divine!
I think my favourite dress would be the Marisole Teal dress because the colour was simply stunning and when I wore it out later that evening I got a lot of compliments on it.
A special shout out to my amazing photographer for this collaboration, Caitlyn Martin! You can find her on Instagram and she will be having some crazy good photography deals coming up very soon. Go and support her page and give her some love!
Thank you to Lindy Bop for collaborating with me and allowing me to review these items!
