As we all start putting out our festive decorations, we may start thinking about what gifts to put under our trees. It’s not always easy to think of the perfect gift so I thought I’d put together a wide sampling of gift ideas incase you were after something special for the vintage lover, or pinup, in your life. I hopefully have something for everyone and items that can suit all budgets but remember that sometimes the best gifts are those that are full of your heart and soul.
I should note that a lot of these ideas are aimed at ladies and those that identify as women but I will also be releasing a list aimed at dapper gentlemen and those that identify as male. Of course, gifts are for everybody so please keep an open mind.
Vintage/Vintage Inspired Books;
I personally love to curl up with a good book and read my entire day away so I’m always on the hunt for true vintage books. My favourite are books about beauty, housekeeping or etiquette but I am also happy with modern books on such topics as well. Some of my favourites and top recommended reads are:

There is a book on any topic as long as you don’t mind searching around for a while. I’d also recommend checking out biography’s of vintage starlets as they are normally a wonderful read and insight into certain figures. A book is always a gift I cherish and it also gives you the opportunity to sign the inside of the book making the gift more memorable.
Vintage inspired Robe and sleepwear.
All vintage lovers love a little bit of glamour so a great gift could be a vintage inspired robe, pyjama set and/or slippers. Polaroid Camera
Even though it’s been around for a very long time, Polaroid cameras are back and easier to find than ever. They make a lovely gift and really are a gift that keeps giving. Accessories and Jewellery
This is a pretty broad category but a lot of pinups and vintage lovers love to accessories their outfits. Something as simple as a cute vintage brooch, cardigan clips or a hat pin could all make a lovely present. Another fun accessory is the scarf; long or short, it can be worn in a wide range of vintage ways such as around the neck as a neckerchief, over the head, to hide curlers when going out or in the classic head band style that Rosie the Riverter made famous. Scarves can be found everywhere and of course they are super budget friendly.
Sunglasses are another wonderful gift; aim for something with the classic cat-eye shape. I get most of my sunglasses from Deluxe Creations as there are so many deigns, sizes and colours to choose from, plus, they are all budget friendly.
My last recommendation for accessories would be a vintage compact. Either a modern one with two mirrors, or a vintage one with a space for pressed powder are perfect and very practical. With so many designs available, you can definitely find a compact which is perfect for anyone. I have quite a few favoruites which I swap out depending on my mood. To further personalise this gift, you can get it engraved with a sweet message or the receivers name.
This could turn into a never ending gift list but I hope that perhaps something has inspired you and hopefully helped in your festive shopping experience. I’d encourage you to think outside the box, become inspired by something and thinking about the joy you could bring the other person. If you’re still stuck, I always like to spend quality time with someone; sometimes a picnic is a wonderful gift as it involves food, chats and sunshine.
