Erstwilder Handbag Review – Flora Fox Face Unboxing

Erstwilder is famous for their resin and acrylic brooches and accessories. They have been around for quite a while and personally, I’ve been collection for a lot longer than I care to admit. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Erstwilder over the last couple of years and have long been a fan of their products. Today Erstwilder tries something a bit different and are releasing a pretty new product for them; handbags. Now Erstwilder has made and released handbags before and although they are pretty rare to find, you do see them every now and again. The announcement of this new handbag release was met with much excitement and I myself was very curious as to how these bags will turn out, let me tell you this now, if you’re a fan of Erstwilder, you are in for a treat.

I was very kindly gifted the Flora Fox Face handbag and purse to review and share with you all (this is not a sponsored post) and today I will simply be sharing my thoughts. For as long as the Flora Fox Face design has been around, I have never actually owned a piece with the design despite even purchasing it as a gift for a friend. I was very excited to see what the style and design of the new Erstwilder bags would be and when I heard I was being sent the Flora purse and bag, I was giddy with anticipation. Within this collection, there are several designs and Erstwilder has taken the uniqueness, joy and beauty behind every design to make each bag different. I think this is a wonderful idea as it makes each piece it’s own unique thing and allows avid collectors to find a special piece for themselves.

The bags arrived on my doorstep and I ripped off the packaging as quickly as I could. I audibly gasped when I saw them. Let’s start with the handbag as I’m sure that’s what you all want to know about. The size is perfect! It’s not too big that it becomes comical and also not too small so you end up carrying half your things in your hands or pockets (if you’re lucky enough to have something with pockets). The front of the bag has the stunning depiction of Flora Fox Face make out of a cream/dusty pink and cream toned faux leather. Her flowers are made up or sparkly leather all with embroidered features. Upon opening up the bag, there is a magnetic clasp keeping the bag closed, as well as a zipper protecting all your things.

The zipper has a golden sparrow trinket attached to symbolise the Erstwilder brand logo. Inside, the bag is fully lined with more sparrow printed fabric. There is a pouch for your cards (it can hold about three cards) as well as a special side zip for hiding items inside. The bag has a top handle for when you want to hold your bag but there is also the option of an adjustable strap for those who prefer an over the shoulder bag. The bottom of the bag has gold feet to stop the bag getting scratched or dirty.

Moving onto the purse, the size is really comfortable to carry and you can easily fit some cards, cash, lipstick and a few small extras inside. The purse also has a zip with the sparrow emblem attached, is lined inside and has the same colour pattern as the bag.

I was really surprised by the quality of these items. That may sound odd because I’m a fan of Erstwilder but when a company is known for one thing, you sometimes get cautious when they want to release something new or different. I’m really in love with this bag; it’s cute, practical, charming and really adds some fun and uniqueness to anyone who wears it. I have to be honest and say I don’t know how much these bags will retail for so please check the Erstwilder page to find that out.
