Erstwilder X Hello Kitty Collection Review

When I first found out about the Erstwilder and Hello Kitty collection, I could hear my nine-year-old self screaming madly with pure joy. I definitely went through a major Hello Kitty phase and my entire study desk was covered in Hello Kitty merchandise some of which I still have (I will never get rid of my massive Hello Kitty clock that screams nursery rhymes as the alarm or my massive train shaped pencil sharpener). Erstwilder have done a fair amount of licensed collaborations but this one hits me right in the childhood and I was beyond stoked to be apart of their release along with pinup bestie, Miss Vintage Orchid (who is a bigger Hello Kitty fan than I am). Erstwilder and Hello Kitty have gone the whole nine-yards with this release which includes brooches, scarves, earrings, enamel pins, necklaces and cardigan clips. As per normal, I will be sharing some of my favourite pieces from this collection with you all.

All the resin in this collection is solid and pretty sturdy. The colours are the classic primary shades found in some older Hello Kitty merchandise. When I first heard that Hello Kitty would be having her own Erstwilder collection, I immediately presumed that the colour palette would be soft pastels but I’m really happy that they chose the solid primary colours. I think this colour scheme is a little more mature than the cute pastel one (which I also love but some days you want to be a bit more subtle) so I think the brooches can easily be worn with a range of different outfits.

I’ve slowly become a huge fan of Erstwilder scarves and wear one many times throughout the week even if it’s just to keep my hair back whilst cleaning or to protect my curlers. They are soft, colourful and tie up really well. I personally reach for the shorter head scarves and think my favourite design from this collection is definitely the apples.

Lastly, we have cardigan clips, a necklace and earrings. These pieces all make wonderful statement pieces for a range of outfits. I have quite the soft spot for the cardigan clips as coming into winter and cooler weather, it’s a nice little accessory to have.

This collection brought about a lot of joy and some wonderful memories. It’s great to see Erstwilder collaborate with such an iconic figure and I hope the collection is successful. Of course, if you have your eye on any of the pieces you see her, please go check out the Erstwilder website as some collections sell out within hours.
