It’s the time of year where I can blast ‘The Monster Mash’ and dance my little twist dance to it without too many weird looks but with the release of Erstwilder’s new Halloween collection… ITS OFFICIALLY SPOOKY SEASON!
For your own audio pleasure
Ok now that we’ve estalished that I should never take control of a Halloween party playlist, it’s time to check out Erstwilder’s new Halloween collection titled In The Shadows and look at some of my favourite pieces. Now I totally have a deep inner witchy side so this collection really spoke to me. I’m not one for scary things and certain symbols I avoid but I really loved how beautiful this collection was. Clearly inspired by vintage imagery and a lovely colour palette to match, this collection is sure to have something for everyone. On a side note, I’m really glad that Erstwilder did something a little different this year for Halloween as there are so many cute and kitschy Halloween collections every year, and Erstwilder have done such collections before, so it’s nice to have something new and refreshing.

It definitely seems that Erstwilder has upped their resin game with the last few releases and this collection is no exception. Looking closely at the pieces, you can really see all the beautiful variations that the resin mixing has created. This is amazing in making each and every piece really unique and interesting. It was also nice to see the amount of detail in the pieces where other Halloween colours were added such as greens and yellows. I really appreciated how there were pieces that could be worn throughout the year or by those who celebrate Halloween all year around. Most of this collection can be ejoyed with several different outfits, colours and styles to suit all who love a good brooch. The size range throught the collection is also quite extensive; some pieces are quite small such as the Guiding Light whilst others such as Lil Boo (not pictured above) came is a bigger box (he’s a personal favourite of mine from this collection and his photo is down below). One fun thing to note as well is the Guiding Light brooch has a loop at the top which can be used to wear it as a necklace if you want another fun way to wear it.
Shooting for Erstwilder’s Halloween shoot was so much fun and got me right into the spooky mood. I loved working with two dear friends and creating something so amazing for a wonderful company such as Erstwilder. As part of the shoot, we also created and constructed a full Halloween themed set which a follow up blog is coming soon to show just how the props were made. Also, I thought it would be worth sharing some of the themed images below to give you a little taste of what we created.
