Hands down, Halloween is a magical time of year and I am all about the pumpkins and cute little spooks. I definitely lean more on the ‘cute’ side of spooky so when I saw that Erstwilder was working with Mimsy I was very excited to see their Halloween collection for 2021. If you’re unaware, Mimsy is a Brisbane based tattoo artist with a cute, colourful and and modern aesthetic; for this collection she was the perfect choice for a cute Halloween collection. Unlike previous years, this Halloween collection features a lot of pastel and of so cute things. As always, I will be sharing with you my favourite pieces from this collection which includes brooches, pins, and earrings.
Let’s start with brooches. In the Erstwilder X Mimsy collection we have something very excited… glow in the dark resin! I was definitely that kid that has those glow in the dark stars on her ceiling so these pieces are really exciting for me. I love the little moon book and it’s now my new favourite brooch; being a fan of all things moon (check out my entire wedding theme) and reading is my favourite pass time. The other two pieces I have to share is the super cute ghost cupcake (including cherry on top, bat sprinkles and a cute bow) just steals my heart and makes me all warm and squishy inside.
Sometimes your brooch is more than enough of a statement piece so a little earring is the perfect little something extra to complete your look. I really love how Erstwilder uses the same resin to create earrings, both stud and drop/dangle earrings, to compliment their collections. Last year we got a couple of wonderful halloween themed pieces so I’m so glad that we got the same deal this year. With the addition of the glow in the dark resin, I was particularly fond of the Jack-o-lantern dangle earrings and think these will be very popular for upcoming Halloween parties. As always, I love anything with pumpkins so the pumpkin studs also stole my heart and I’ve been wearing them quite a lot lately. No shame.
To finish off the collection, we have some stunning pins. Not every design from the collection comes in pin form but I was very lucky to receive some super cute new pin friends. I was a particular fan of my little bat holding a pumpkin and the dark butterfly also had a very unique charm about it.
As soon as Erstwilder releases their Halloween collection for the year, I officially fill my house with pumpkins, the smell of cinnamon and fake autumn leaves (even though it’s actually spring in Australia but oh well). The Halloween collection is always really special to me as it’s my favourite time of year and it allows me to enjoy feeling cosy and comfortable. This collection will definitely be making an appearance as I count down the days until Halloween. As always, if you are wanting to grab any of these pieces, head to the Erstwilder website as quick as you can as they can sell out very quickly.
I hope this collection sparks the start of your own spooky season!
