Polka Dot Vintage Markets November 2020

November 16, 2020November 16, 2020Leave a comment

I constantly remind myself how lucky I am to be living in Perth where we are feeling pretty safe and protected from Covid. Although we've gone through lockdown like most people, we are lucky that we haven't had any community transmissions for quite some time. Despite that, we have missed out on many events that … Continue reading Polka Dot Vintage Markets November 2020

Miss Sou’West Vintage Fest Pageant 2019

November 18, 2019January 23, 2021Leave a comment

It's been a while since I wrote about a pageant that I participated in and it's a topic I love to share. I'm hoping one day I can start a mini series about pinup pageants but at the moment, I'm not feeling like I'm the best person to give advice. Anywho, here we are a … Continue reading Miss Sou’West Vintage Fest Pageant 2019

That’s a Wrap – Harley Quinn

"You think I'm just a doll. A doll that's pink and light. A doll you can arrange any way you like. You're wrong. Very wrong. What you think of me is only a ghost of time. I am dangerous. And I will show you just how dark I can be." I've always wanted to get … Continue reading That’s a Wrap – Harley Quinn

Pinup with a Passport – Road Trip to Jurien Bay

A few months ago, myself, Miss Lady Lady, Miss Lillian Rose and Fate Photography were all commissioned to create some vintage beach images for the Family Affair Cafe in Jurien Bay. Needless to say, the images were a huge success and the locals loved them! It didn't take long before we were all invited for … Continue reading Pinup with a Passport – Road Trip to Jurien Bay

Sometimes it's scary how well Google knows you and what you like to buy. At the end of last year I kept getting recommended this Acorn Rattan bag from @olliella and you bet ya bottom I loved it. Google knew I would want a bag designed for children for myself. Ah, well played Google, well played.
This weekend was all about recovering from my recent operation but it gave me time to start planning my next vintage ghibli sewing project.
When dressing in the vintage style, many of us feel the pressure to style ourselves in a way to suit. Red lips and curled hair become iconic for vintage styling but for people like me, styling my hair can be a bit of a challenge.
When I was a kid, I went through a pretty strong Hello Kitty phase. My entire desk was covered in every piece of Hello Kitty stationery I could get my hands on, much of which I still have today. The new collection from @erstwilder with @hellokitty made my nine year old self squeal with joy! Oh and of course @miss.vintage.orchid is also Hello Kitty obsessed!

This little bunny wants to wish you all a wonderful and safe Easter.
When you watch one too many 80s films right before an Easter shoot. Bette Midler would be proud πŸ’š
Be honest, how often do you wash your foam/sponge curlers? I try to wash mine at least once a month as I use multiple times a week. They can start to look a bit gross and sad if you don't keep them clean.
Have you ever procrastinated so hard that years go by and you still haven't done the thing you set out to do? Well, that happened to me; for over two and a half years I have wanted to create a mini-series on my blog (and now YouTube) where I take my favourite Studio Ghibli films and characters and turn them into a vintage version of themselves.
Self care is the best kind of care πŸ’™
