Airlines are notorious for being super strict on weight limit and as an avid traveller I always try to find ways to reduce weight in my suitcase wherever I can. Travelling with makeup can sometimes be difficult as you can’t also repot or take smaller amounts of things so you have to be very strict with what you do take. Doing makeup whilst travelling can be necessary for some who need that little extra confidence boost. Some days whilst travelling I’m happy to go makeup free but other time, especially when going somewhere special like a nice dinner, I want to put on some makeup. For todays post I wanted to share some of my favourite eyeshadow palettes that I believe are small enough but versatile enough for a range of pinup and vintage makeup looks. Before I begin my list, I will note that I will only recommend palettes I have tried out and those that work for my preferred makeup look so the colours may be really similar palette to palette. I am also not a makeup artist so what works for me may not work for others and I just wanted to share for those who like a nice neutral and simple eye look.
Colour Pop – Going Coconuts
$21.50 AUD
Go loco for this toasted neutral 9 pan palette, perfect for your every day looks. This super wearable palette is cute, compact, and ready for any neutral look you have in mind and is able to go from day to night in a flash.
I will note here that there are many many neutral palettes made by Colour Pop all with very similar colours. Going Coconut has been my favourite for a while which is why I am recommending it above others but please check out their other palettes incase there are ones that will suit your preferred neutral tones. I have even purchased this palette as a gift for friends and so far they all still love and use it.

Colour Pop – Hello Hollywood
$7.40 AUD (currently on sale)
Since we’re on the subject of Colour Pop Cosmetics, the other palette I really love from this company for a good neutral look that is small enough to take on trips is the Hello Hollywood palette which was made in collaboration with vintage gal Jasmine Chiswell. It’s so compact but has everything you need.
This palette features cool-toned neutrals like taupe and chocolate brown with a dash of baby blue in Matte and Matte Sparkle finishes. This palette is part of a collection so I am not sure if it will be around for too long.

Dior Diorshow 5 Couleurs Couture Eyeshadow Palette
$115 AUD
This small palette is a compacter version of a larger Dior palette and features 5 iconic colours which have a creamy and comfortable texture that does not migrate into the crease of the eyelid. The palette colours are very pigmented and long lasting and come in a variety of finishes: matte, satin, pearly, metallic, highlighter and glitter. It also comes with a duo of double-ended applicators for full creative expression.
So I don’t actually own this palette but it was gifted to my mother and I used it a few times and thought it was pretty good although a bit too pricey for me personally.

These palettes are all small enough to be popped into a cosmetics bag but versatile enough to offer you a range of eye looks as you go about your adventures across the globe. There are many small neutral eyeshadow palettes on the market and I will be making another list soon, but I wanted to limit this one to palettes small enough for travel but also versatile enough. There should hopefully be something that will suit a range of budgets but I only wanted to recommend palettes that I have personally tried myself and would happily own and use.
