We are back with a brand new season of The Marvellous Mrs Maisel which means there will be new and exciting vintage costumes on our screens and in our hearts. As a fan of the show and of course the fashion, I am very lucky to once again work with Heart My Closet to test and review some of their Mrs Maisel inspired garments. We’ve looked at such dresses and coats here, here and here so feel free to check out those reviews too. I will be reviewing two dresses and a coat in this review but make sure to come back next week where I review more items from Heart My Closet.
At this point I have quite the collection of dresses from Heart My Closet hanging in my closet. It still is a company I will continue to support and shop with as their items are beyond wonderful and very well made, not to mention their customer service and ethics are top notch. Each dress is expertly crafted and fully lined in high quality materials and they are very luxurious. The best thing about the dresses that Heart My Closet make is the fit and the plethora of different styles. For women who dress in the vintage style, once we find a company or brand who has mastered how to make clothes for a vintage loving body, we seldom stray. All the dresses I own by Heart My Closet are so well tailored to my body shape that they feel like a second skin and it really boosts my confidence. I get stopped all the time and asked where my dress is from and I am always so excited when their eyes light up saying these dresses are all custom made.
Dress 1:
If you’ve already watched the first episode of season 4 The Marvellous Mrs Maisel, you might recognise this dreamy bright pink number. A little bit more fitted than the usual dresses worn by Midge, this stunning dress features a collar, button accents, a matching belt and an a-line skirt. She gave me a bit of an early 60’s vibe in the cut but the length and details are still very much 50’s classic features.
The collar extends to the back and is it’s own feature with sharp ends giving a sort of atomic feel. I was a fan of the dress being sleeveless as especially now in the current heat, I’ve really like wearing this dress. I found the fit very flattering and she received several compliments throughout the day. As she is such a bold colour, I found accessorising her easy as going for softer tones really made her the stand out feature of the outfit.
As with all Heart My Closet items, the dress can be made to fit you in any colour you prefer. I’m really glad I got this original pink colour as it really was fun to wear. For this shoot I paired her with nude heels, matching pink gloves and simple pearl earrings from Poporcelaine.

Coat 1:
Midge loves a good matching coat so I was so pleased to receive this stunning short curved coat which came from the first season. I remember Midge wearing this number and the curved bodice front pieces really stood out to me in their uniqueness and beauty. What I found most interesting about this coat is actually the colour; I couldn’t quite describe the colour at first as it’s a mix of cream and pink with a hint of brown but she’s easy to style due to her being so neutral.
The coat is fully lined which makes her very comfortable to wear whilst the outer fabric is a soft thin wool, perfect for keeping you warm. I loved the collared cuffs and the neck collar which were the perfect size to balance out the coat. The coat had no fastening at the front which is fine if you want to show off the dress you have on underneath. When I wear her in winter I think I will definitely go for darker red shades to really bring out the pink in the coat. Oh and of course, the greatest part about this coat is that it has two functioning pockets perfect for holding snacks. To style this coat, I put her over the above dress as I loved the pink tones working together.

Dress 2:
This one might take you a second to recognise as I had the dress made in a different colour way to what Midge wore. Worn during season 2, this stunning dress was worn on the show in an orange and blue combination with a matching coat. It was one of my favourite dresses from the show as the colours were so striking and bold. For my own version, I opted for a brown and green combination as I love autumal tones and thought it would make a really cute final dress. I think I was right in my colour judgement but I’d love to know what colours you would choose (I really want a pink and red version too!). This dress has a featured curved neckline with display buttons. I love the slight puff on the sleeves which gives it a soft sweet kind of look. Of course there’s a matching belt and a full skirt to complete the whole look.
To style tis dress I added a pair of brown heels and a matching brown hat. I could have gone with green accessories but saved them for a different outfit coming in next weeks post.
