I tried making a Christmas Village Wreath

December 11, 2020December 10, 2020Leave a comment

After the failure of this years Halloween wreath and last years questionable festive wreath, I thought, "why not give it all another go?". I went straight onto Martha Stewarts website as she is the queen of homely decorations and I found her tutorial for a Christmas village wreath which I fell in love with. You … Continue reading I tried making a Christmas Village Wreath

Greetings to all you dear readers. Today Erstwilder celebrates the release of another wonderful collect this time inspired by Art Nouveau. So I had grand delusions of creating these crazy images with gorgeous styling, costuming, hair and makeup but alas, my body had other plans so these are the best I could do. Art Nouveau … Continue reading Erstwilder Art Nouveau Collection

Bougie Burlesque Candle Review

May 5, 2020Leave a comment

I have jumped on this candle train a little late, especially since these candles were announced November last year and I've only just gotten around to ordering them. What can I say, I've been busy and haven't spent that much time on social media. Alas, I have in my possession, three out of the four … Continue reading Bougie Burlesque Candle Review

That’s a Wrap – Fields of Gold

April 25, 2020April 25, 20202 Comments

A little while ago, I wrote up a post all about how to organise a photoshoot whilst travelling (link here) and thought it would be fun to share just what such collaborations can create. When I knew I was going to be travelling to Poland last year, I really wanted to grab the opportunity to … Continue reading That’s a Wrap – Fields of Gold

Oversharing with MonMon – Knitting

June 21, 2019June 24, 20191 Comment

I think we all have that skill or talent we want to learn but we put it in the 'one-day' pile. For me, that skill was knitting. I had always wanted to learn it when I was in high school but this is before there were tutorials on YouTube and I knew nobody who could … Continue reading Oversharing with MonMon – Knitting

Sometimes it's scary how well Google knows you and what you like to buy. At the end of last year I kept getting recommended this Acorn Rattan bag from @olliella and you bet ya bottom I loved it. Google knew I would want a bag designed for children for myself. Ah, well played Google, well played.
This weekend was all about recovering from my recent operation but it gave me time to start planning my next vintage ghibli sewing project.
When dressing in the vintage style, many of us feel the pressure to style ourselves in a way to suit. Red lips and curled hair become iconic for vintage styling but for people like me, styling my hair can be a bit of a challenge.
When I was a kid, I went through a pretty strong Hello Kitty phase. My entire desk was covered in every piece of Hello Kitty stationery I could get my hands on, much of which I still have today. The new collection from @erstwilder with @hellokitty made my nine year old self squeal with joy! Oh and of course @miss.vintage.orchid is also Hello Kitty obsessed!

This little bunny wants to wish you all a wonderful and safe Easter.
When you watch one too many 80s films right before an Easter shoot. Bette Midler would be proud πŸ’š
Be honest, how often do you wash your foam/sponge curlers? I try to wash mine at least once a month as I use multiple times a week. They can start to look a bit gross and sad if you don't keep them clean.
Have you ever procrastinated so hard that years go by and you still haven't done the thing you set out to do? Well, that happened to me; for over two and a half years I have wanted to create a mini-series on my blog (and now YouTube) where I take my favourite Studio Ghibli films and characters and turn them into a vintage version of themselves.
Self care is the best kind of care πŸ’™
