Daisy Jean Beauty and the Beast Collection

August 21, 2020August 16, 2020Leave a comment

Growing up, I loved listening to fairytales; they made me believe in inner strength, inner beauty, kindness and magic. My favourite story was always Beauty and the Beast; I loved reading and would always have my nose stuck in a book so I found the character of Belle really relatable. She didn't really fit in … Continue reading Daisy Jean Beauty and the Beast Collection

Continuing down the nostalgia road, Daisy Jean has released another magical collection full of childhood memories. Released in 1986, Labyrinth was a musical fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, with George Lucas as executive producer, based upon conceptual designs by Brian Froud. It follows the tale of teenage Sarah journeys through a maze to recover her baby … Continue reading Daisy Jean Labyrinth Collection

Zapaka Boutique Dress Review

**Please Note: since the release of this review, it has been drawn to my attention that Zapaka Boutique has been engaging in some unethical practices. Customers have not been receiving their orders and all attempts at corespondance has fallen on deaf ears. Furthermore, a follower of mine has had her photos used to promote a … Continue reading Zapaka Boutique Dress Review

Daisy Jean Floral Totoro Brooch Collection Review

We all have those guilty pleasure movies where we can sit back, relax and escape on amazing adventures inside fantastical worlds and wonderful creatures; for a lot of people, that's Disney but for me, it's actually Studio Ghibli. For those that aren't aware of Studio Ghibli, stop what you're doing, go and find a copy … Continue reading Daisy Jean Floral Totoro Brooch Collection Review

Daisy Jean Alice in Wonderland Collection

As some of you know, I have recently become the Australian face for Daisy Jean Floral for 2020. It's such an exciting venture but also a very scary one. As one of my yearly resolutions, I am trying to be kinder to myself and stop putting myself down even as a joke, so to … Continue reading Daisy Jean Alice in Wonderland Collection

Sometimes it's scary how well Google knows you and what you like to buy. At the end of last year I kept getting recommended this Acorn Rattan bag from @olliella and you bet ya bottom I loved it. Google knew I would want a bag designed for children for myself. Ah, well played Google, well played.
This weekend was all about recovering from my recent operation but it gave me time to start planning my next vintage ghibli sewing project.
When dressing in the vintage style, many of us feel the pressure to style ourselves in a way to suit. Red lips and curled hair become iconic for vintage styling but for people like me, styling my hair can be a bit of a challenge.
When I was a kid, I went through a pretty strong Hello Kitty phase. My entire desk was covered in every piece of Hello Kitty stationery I could get my hands on, much of which I still have today. The new collection from @erstwilder with @hellokitty made my nine year old self squeal with joy! Oh and of course @miss.vintage.orchid is also Hello Kitty obsessed!

This little bunny wants to wish you all a wonderful and safe Easter.
When you watch one too many 80s films right before an Easter shoot. Bette Midler would be proud 💚
Be honest, how often do you wash your foam/sponge curlers? I try to wash mine at least once a month as I use multiple times a week. They can start to look a bit gross and sad if you don't keep them clean.
Have you ever procrastinated so hard that years go by and you still haven't done the thing you set out to do? Well, that happened to me; for over two and a half years I have wanted to create a mini-series on my blog (and now YouTube) where I take my favourite Studio Ghibli films and characters and turn them into a vintage version of themselves.
Self care is the best kind of care 💙
