Finding my Vintage Unicorn

September 16, 2019September 24, 20192 Comments

I've always been surrounded by vintage objects and antiques; I've seen many beautiful things during my travels and have, over time, created a wishlist of beautiful things that I hope to one day own. Now that I dress pinup full time, it's only natural that my vintage wishlist features certain items of clothing. Some are … Continue reading Finding my Vintage Unicorn

Oversharing with MonMon – Knitting

June 21, 2019June 24, 20191 Comment

I think we all have that skill or talent we want to learn but we put it in the 'one-day' pile. For me, that skill was knitting. I had always wanted to learn it when I was in high school but this is before there were tutorials on YouTube and I knew nobody who could … Continue reading Oversharing with MonMon – Knitting

Louella DeVille – Spring Outfit Review

April 22, 2019Leave a comment

It's been a hot minute since I reviewed Louella DeVille and since my last review, there have been heaps of new styles, prints, and items in the shop. For those that don't know, Louella DeVille is a fast-growing Aussie pinup clothing and accessories online store that really is your one-stop pinup shop. With so many … Continue reading Louella DeVille – Spring Outfit Review

I'm embarrassed by how long it has taken me to get this blog review out but I suppose sometimes life has other plans. Without further delay, I am really excited to bring you the continuation of the Grace Karin dress review with a new GK winter dress; the Women's 3/4 Sleeve Knee-Length Buttons Decorated Body-con Pencil … Continue reading Grace Karin – Winter Dress Review

Pretty in Pink Dress – Kova Kiss Review

Some things can just truly make your day; a delicious cup of tea in the morning, fresh flowers and a brand new pink dress. I was recently contacted by the brand Kova Kiss and asked if I would like to review one of their dresses and after peeping at their website, it was an absolute … Continue reading Pretty in Pink Dress – Kova Kiss Review

Sometimes it's scary how well Google knows you and what you like to buy. At the end of last year I kept getting recommended this Acorn Rattan bag from @olliella and you bet ya bottom I loved it. Google knew I would want a bag designed for children for myself. Ah, well played Google, well played.
This weekend was all about recovering from my recent operation but it gave me time to start planning my next vintage ghibli sewing project.
When dressing in the vintage style, many of us feel the pressure to style ourselves in a way to suit. Red lips and curled hair become iconic for vintage styling but for people like me, styling my hair can be a bit of a challenge.
When I was a kid, I went through a pretty strong Hello Kitty phase. My entire desk was covered in every piece of Hello Kitty stationery I could get my hands on, much of which I still have today. The new collection from @erstwilder with @hellokitty made my nine year old self squeal with joy! Oh and of course @miss.vintage.orchid is also Hello Kitty obsessed!

This little bunny wants to wish you all a wonderful and safe Easter.
When you watch one too many 80s films right before an Easter shoot. Bette Midler would be proud 💚
Be honest, how often do you wash your foam/sponge curlers? I try to wash mine at least once a month as I use multiple times a week. They can start to look a bit gross and sad if you don't keep them clean.
Have you ever procrastinated so hard that years go by and you still haven't done the thing you set out to do? Well, that happened to me; for over two and a half years I have wanted to create a mini-series on my blog (and now YouTube) where I take my favourite Studio Ghibli films and characters and turn them into a vintage version of themselves.
Self care is the best kind of care 💙
