Sarsparilly X Peanuts Collection Review

If you know me well, you will know that I absolutely love Peanuts (the delicious nut snack and the Schultz cartoon). When I’m over anxious and need to calm down, I put on the Peanuts movie. When I want to relax in bed, I’ll read a Peanuts comic. I have a very soft spot for Charlie Brown, Snoopy and all their friends. Now I’ve already shared my excitement over my love of Peanuts with the collaboration between Peanuts and Erstwilder, so now, I am even more thrilled to bring to you the amazingness that is the collaboration between Peanuts and Sarsparilly. I’ve been a fan of Sarsparilly for a while and have review several of their collections (here, here and here), so when I heard they were working with the Peanuts gang, I may have squealed with delight. Two amazing brands coming together! Oh sweet sweet joy! In order to celebrate this collaboration in the proper style it deserves, I have got together with local photographer and all around amazing friend Angie Delarie to do a very special photoshoot. For this shoot, I have spent just under two weeks building a Snoopy inspired dog house with my Dad, which came out pretty good if I do say so myself. I do plan on releasing a separate blog about the building process so hopefully that will be out in the next few weeks.

Let’s start with the stunning Kite-Eating Tea Dress. We all have that one huge challenge in life which often get’s the best of us. For me it’s my anxiety, for Charlie Brown, it was the Kite-Eating tree. I love this dress because the entire Peanuts gang is featured; Schroeder, Lucy and Linus Van Pelt, Charlie and Sally Brown, Pig-Pen, Franklin, and of course Snoopy and Woodstock! The delight is in the detail and the gang are beautifully presented on the full skirt of this shirtwaist-style dress, with the sky and clouds filling the bodice and also on the included removable belt. The buttons are covered in the same fabric as the dress and working, so the front can be opened. The two pockets are hidden and large enough to hold a phone and (almost) anything else you don’t want to carry around a bag for. Cotton sateen & 3% elastane. This fabric has a slight sheen to it and the elastane allows stretch for comfort.
Here I am wearing a size small and it fits perfectly; I’ve recently sized down from a medium to a small and still found the small very roomy and comfy.

It’s gotten to the point where I keep my cardigans away from human sight due to fear of someone seeing the sheer number I own and calling in an intervention. No matter how many cardigans I own, I cannot stop myself from getting more. When I saw the Love and Friendship cardigan, it was a no brainer, I needed to own it…and now my life is so much better. The Love & Friendship Cardigan is a fiery red like the warmth and passion we have for our friends and loved ones. Featuring Peanuts’ resident beagle, Snoopy, he is shown with his arms outstretched looking for or ready to give a big hug, while on the opposing side he is ready to walk right into love. The delight is in the details and you will love the adorable little heart-shaped fabric-buttons, matching the colour of the heart-shaped elbow patches which are fabric appliques with black embroidery around the edges. This a 3/4 sleeve cardigan and is a cropped length so it sits at the natural waistline. Yarn: 80% Viscose, 18% Nylon, 2% Elastane. Soft and luxurious feel, wont stretch out of shape after washing or pill easily. The yarn is a beautiful feeling mid-weight yarn that is a perfect for all seasons.
Note: it should be noted that cardigans are a size-and-a-half rather than full standalone sizes. It’s advised to check out the sizing chart on the Sarsparilly site if you wish to purchase this item.

I couldn’t possibly get the Love and Friendship cardigan without a skirt to go with it, so behold the Love, Snoopy skirt. Seeing Snoopy as an author during my childhood really inspired me to write myself (I man here I am with my own blog right?). This skirt, being a love letter from Snoopy himself, really made me fall involve with the design straight away. The Love, Snoopy Skirt is a love letter to best friends everywhere, featuring Peanuts’ lovable beagle, Snoopy, and his best friend Woodstock. This border print alternates between an image of Snoopy waiting for a hug and then him receiving one from Woodstock, and also includes a continuous XOXO pattern in the background. The delight is in the detail and there is one very important one to be mindful of: the skirt features a firm, non-stretching waistband, so make sure you get the correct size as there is no give (if you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact Sarsparilly). This is a full pleated skirt (small pleats rather than gathers), and includes an invisible zipper for a neat and professional look. Hidden pockets are an additional convenience; large enough to fit your phone in and (most) other small things you might want to carry around. The skirt is made from cotton sateen.

I love the items I received from this collection and trust me, I’m tempted to get a few more pieces. The rest of the collection includes the Best Friends Forever Romper and The Racing Hearts Jacket. The Best Friends Forever romper, sometimes you need to be cool in Summer and sometimes you need to look hot in Winter, this 1950s-inspired jumpsuit with a repeating print featuring scenes from the lives of best friends Snoopy and Woodstock accomplishes this and more. The delight is in the detail with velvet covered heart-shaped buttons on the calves and an invisible zipper for a refined look to the garment, as well as pockets for convenience. The red contrast belt is included to complete the look. The romper is made from cotton sateen & 3% elastane. This fabric has a slight sheen to it and the elastane allows stretch for comfort.
As for the Racing Hearts jacket, you don’t have to be Joe Cool to look this effortlessly good. Make everyone’s heart race in the fabulous Racing Hearts Jacket, featuring Peanuts’ resident beagle, Snoopy, embracing a giant red heart. The delight is in the detail, and in this jacket there are so many. From simple touches like the contrasting red zippers, to the luxe finish of the gorgeously comforting pink lining with black hearts, topped off by the adorable embroidered red elbow patches. The jacket is made from faux leather, there is no stretch or give in this material and sizing is true to size.

II haven’t had this much fun over a collaboration in quite a while. I love all my new Peanut’s items and am thrilled to add even more Sarsparilly to my wardrobe. Shooting with Angie was a hoot and a half as always and building the Snoopy inspired doghouse with Papa Bear was both educational and fun. I will be sharing more photos on my social’s throughout the week but also once I release my building video sometime next month. I’d love to know if there are any other Snoopy fans out there! Or if you plan on picking up a few pieces from the new Sarsparilly collection!
